Margaret Howell is always the dream. Her clothes are why I go to work every morning. (And sometimes when my real dream seems impossible, I push through with studying, for hope of a better job and Howell’s gorgeous clothes.)

Today I had my first yoga class for over three weeks. It was brilliant. My RSI (in my wrist) forced me to adapt postures that are considered necessary to every practice - plank, downward dog et cetera. My teacher, Anna, was as wonderful as ever. Teaching me how to overcome what had previously seemed insurmountable. And as my mind was occupied with making each posture work for me, I found a peace I’ve never achieved. For the first time, my class was not about being better than last week, or the yogi next to me. It was about doing what was right for my body, at this particular moment, when my body is injured and yoga is about what it is meant to be about: health, peace of mind, confidence and self-love.
Yoga Moves For a Pick-Me-Up
Move 1 (top left): Start in a pushup position, lift your hips, and move into downwardfacing dog. Take five breaths. Raise your right heel toward the ceiling as high as you can, then slowly lower your left forearm to the floor. Keep both palms flat on the floor.
Move 2 (top right): Straighten your left arm and put your right foot between your hands. Shift your weight onto your right foot as you raise your left leg. At the same time, raise your torso until it is parallel to the floor and reach your arms forward.
Move 3 (bottom left): Place hands on the floor beneath your shoulders. Rotate your hips to the left and raise your left arm toward the ceiling. Bend your left knee back, and reach your left hand behind you to hold your foot.
Move 4 (bottom right): From half-moon arch, turn your hips and shoulders back toward the floor, then use your core muscles to roll your body up to standing. Place the sole of your left foot on your right inner thigh. Lift your arms straight up above your shoulders.

I’ve never tried it with tree legs, but once my wrist heals, I will definitely do be doing this. bummer i’ve got an injury now, definitely feeling the yoga itch.
Side plank, vashistasana, variation. Transition to tree legs into chaturanga. I fell over a lot before I finally got this. In fact, sometimes, I still do ;)
